How Doctor Prescription Maker works
A plain-English walkthrough: from installing the app to a verified prescription in your patient’s hands — and exactly where your data lives.
The four steps
Install the app and sign in
Download it for your Mac, Windows PC or Android phone. Create an account once and set up your profile: name, registration number, clinic, logo and signature.
Build your medicine list
Add the medicines you prescribe with your usual dose, frequency and duration — or start from a list of common names. Next time it is one tap, fully editable.
Write the prescription
Pick the patient, tap medicines, adjust with one-tap chips, and watch the live preview. Choose a template, colour and typeface that suit your practice.
Finalize, then print or share
Finalizing locks it with a unique number and a verification QR. Save a PDF, print, or share it on WhatsApp. Made a mistake? Correct & reissue — the original is kept and marked replaced.
Why it works offline
The app is a real desktop and Android application, not a website. Everything you need — your medicine list, patients, templates and every prescription — is stored in a database on your own device and read from there, so it works with no connection at all.
It only needs the internet now and then: to check your subscription, to download updates, and (when you choose) to register a prescription’s verification code so its QR can be checked online.
Where your data lives
Patient records, prescriptions and your medicine list are stored in an encrypted database on your device (256-bit SQLCipher). The encryption key is kept in the operating system’s secure keystore — macOS Keychain, Windows, or the Android Keystore — not next to the data.
We do not keep patient records on our servers. What we hold is your account, your subscription state and the minimal information needed for QR verification: the prescription number, verification code, issue date, your name and registration, and whether it has been revoked.
The free plan and subscription
Your first 10 finalized prescriptions are free, across all your devices. Drafts are unlimited. When you finalize the 11th, the app invites you to choose a monthly or yearly plan.
The app holds a signed, time-limited licence that says what your plan allows, so it keeps working through an internet outage. A licence is checked with your account when you are online. Subscribe on your phone or computer — it applies to all your devices.
What “finalize” means
A draft can be edited freely and autosaves as you type. Finalizing turns it into an official prescription: it gets a unique number, a verification code, and a tamper-evident fingerprint, and it can no longer be changed — just like a signed paper prescription.
If you spot a mistake afterwards, use Correct & reissue. The app opens a copy of the prescription; you fix it and finalize. The new prescription gets its own number, and the original is marked “Corrected — replaced by…”. Both remain on record, so the history is honest.
Templates, colours and typefaces
Choose from nine designed templates — from a clean Classic to an Executive colour band, an Elegant serif letterhead or a Clinical two-column layout. Change the accent colour, typeface and text size, and choose whether to print the QR.
Set your favourite as the default for all new prescriptions. The look you finalize with is stored with the prescription, so an old prescription always reprints exactly as it was issued.
A QR code that proves the prescription is real
Every finalized prescription carries a unique code. A pharmacist, patient or insurer can scan the QR at the bottom and instantly see whether it is genuine, who issued it and whether it is still valid — without seeing anything about the patient.
- 1
You finalize
The prescription gets a number like DPM-2026-R20K-000128 and a secret verification code, sealed with a fingerprint of its exact contents.
- 2
They scan the QR
The QR opens a public verification page for that code — no app or login needed.
- 3
They see the result
The page shows the prescription number, issue date, doctor name and registration, and whether it is valid or revoked. A corrected prescription shows as replaced.
Privacy by design: the verification page never shows the patient’s name, age, diagnosis or medicines. Only the fact that the prescription is authentic.
